This is my frustration today…my testing ground for the week. I hate car trouble…always have, always will. Something that seems so simple always seems to take more time and money than even your worst case estimations. At least my car is running (so there is silver lining).
The Xterra has to go back to the shop this morning after spending the better part of two days there! The tail lights and dashboard lights have been out for a couple of weeks. I replace the fuse (once I found it) and it just blows the fuse…sometimes in seconds, sometimes minutes. Hard to drive at night without tail lights. So I took it into the shop.
The problem? The trailer harness is apparently shot and causing a short (which I need for our trip to Como this weekend)
The fix? A new harness and a day of working from home.
The cost? $300 (two-thirds of it labor). But at least it’s fixed, right? Not so fast…
The Result? It blows AGAIN on my way home from the shop last night! ![]()
So now Anita has to get up early, take me to the shop and take me to work. And then my Grandmother is picking me up from work so I can borrow her car to go get mine again (assuming they can fix it in under two days this time). It’s just such a hassle and pain to work around only having one car. But I am trying my best to keep a positive attitude and trust God with this entire situation (I’m working on it!).
And to think…I didn’t even pray for patience (don’t ever pray that prayer unless you mean it)! ![]()
UPDATE: Got the car back this afternoon (they found another 2 wires that were shorting out). They fixed it and didn’t charge me for the extra labor or minor parts. Another lesson for me to just trust God and He will take care of even the “little stuff”.
