Anita and I have had a long-running debate regarding how you are supposed to put on your socks and shoes. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s one of those debates that keeps the spunk in a marriage (or something like that). ![]()
I say you should put on both socks and then put on your shoes (sock-sock then shoe-shoe).
Anita says it’s OK to put on a sock and a shoe and then a sock and a shoe (sock-shoe, shock-shoe).
Of course, this is just plain insanity! I am fairly confident only the criminally insane or those who are from an alternate universe would ever consider the sock-shoe, sock-shoe method truly viable. It is just plain wrong!
So, what do you say? Take a second to answer the quiz and become part of the great debate…but be prepared to be sent to the loony bin if you adhere to the heretical view (I am positive that the Old Testament agrees with my position!)…

This is a very funny debate! I heard about this in one of those e-mails that gets passed around “know more about me” and one of the questions is which shoe do you put on first. I’d NEVER thought about it until that day and now you’re talking about it. Anyway, I actually thought about that this morning while putting on my running shoes. I broke my own rule and actually did the shoe-sock-shoe-sock method! I just wanted to see what it was like and I really don’t like it! I wish I could go back and undo what I did because it really should be sock-sock, shoe-shoe method! I realize I’m not gaining puts with Anita by saying this but I think it’s a no brainer too!
So, what foot do you start with; left or right???
Sorry I meant to type “points with Anita” not puts
I always start with the left foot. And I’ve tried it Anita’s way too and it just isn’t right…can screw up your whole day!
The ONLY time I think it works is if you can’t put your foot down with the sock on (like if it would get wet)…but even then it’s borderline.
Anita is strange, but we already knew that…I am with you brother.
David and Anita,
Here are a few points to consider:
First, does she take off her shoes and socks in the same order shoe-sock, shoe-sock?
Secondly, when Anita is shopping for shoes does she take off one of her socks put it back on and then try on the shoe?
She wouldn’t have this problem is she was a bare-footed kicker in the NFL.
First of all, the fact that you’re all thinking and talking about me means I have you all exactly where I want you. Secondly, yes Bill, I’m strange but I can still keep my chair at the poker table longer than you. Trent, I CAN, in fact, kick a football barefoot. And as far as how I do it when I’m shoe shopping, I don’t quite remember so I’d better go shoe shopping just in case….
OUCH!!
Don’t let her intimidate you Bill!! Smack talk her back man!
Trent, when I got home I took off one shoe, put on that sock, then removed the other shoe and put on that sock. Just thought you should know so you won’t lose any sleep tonight.
