Sit down with my mom who will be 85 this May and let her regale you in what life was like during the recession, the FDR years, WII, Korean War, etc. Let her give you a glimpse of her father who walked across Europe to jump a ship (illegally!) and escape the tyranny of Prussia influence in the early 1900's to come to America.
