Broncos Predictions Update

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

OK, so I was WAY too optimistic with my W-L predictions for the Broncos (I had them going 11-6 on Sept 16th). Here is my updated prediction…  and I can’t believe that Denver has a shot at first place in the division this week! I have realistic expectations for this year (meaning I’m looking to next year for the real turn around):

   Opponent     Prediction/Actual
at Buffalo            W/W
Oakland              W/W
Jacksonville        W/L
at Indianapolis    L/L
San Diego           W/L
BYE
Pittsburgh          W/L
Green_Bay         W/L
at Detroit            L/L
at Kansas City   L
Tennessee          W
at Chicago           L
at Oakland         W
Kansas City      W
at Houston        W
at San Diego     L
Minnesota          W

Season Prediction: 7 and 9

Note that I m currently 50% on my predictions for the year so far…not great, not bad.

I’m Back…

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

It has been over a week since I last blogged and I have missed it. The reason? Time.

It’s has been a crazy week, but things seem to be settling down a little bit…at least I hope that’s the case.

But I have been doing some great reading this week and God has been challengin me in new ways–as usual. With all the busy-ness (is that a word) that’s been my life for the past few weeks, I’ve had a tough time keeping everything in the right priority. Sees I’ve often been working on the more pressing stuff instead of the most important stuff.

I read a great quote this week that I am still working on, it comes from page 33 of the book Your First Two Years in Youth Ministry by Doug Fields:

I know God doesn’t plan more for me to do than he’s given me time for.

Of course, this means that if I’m doing more than I have time for then I’m doing stuff God hasn’t asked me to do. OUCH!

I’m working on my priorities and getting them to line up with the time I invest. I must admit that right now my time investments and my priorities are not in synch. And it’s easy to say you need to get them in line…but it’s not always easy. Both because I’m used to how things are and it’s hard work doing what really matters.

But I keep trying. And it’s a work in progress.
